This exquisite retreat can comfortably accommodate up to six individuals, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a memorable getaway.
The Historic Hanscom is a European style condo-hotel built in 1928 and recently renovated. The Penthouse sleeps six comfortably with two bedrooms, one bath, and a full kitchen. LINENS AND TOWELS AND 6 BEACH TAGS ARE PROVIDED. A private storage closet has beach gear for your use (chairs, umbrellas, boogie board, cart, sand toys, cooler).
Located in the center of the boardwalk activities, only steps to the beach and a few short blocks to the Asbury Avenue shopping district with over 100 shops and restaurants.

Policies
All requests to cancel a lease must be made in writing. Requests must be mailed or e-mailed directly to the owner. Refunds will not be made until all payments by you have cleared, which may take up to several weeks.
Cancellation after a fully executed lease and more than 90 days prior to check-in: The reservation will be cancelled and 100% of funds will be returned to the Tenant, less the processing fee and any other non-recoverable costs incurred by the Owner on behalf of the Tenant;
Cancellation after a fully executed lease and more than 60 days prior to check-in the reservation will be cancelled and 50% of funds will be returned to the Tenant, less the processing fee and any other non-recoverable costs incurred by the Owner on behalf of the Tenant;
Cancellation after a fully executed lease and less than 60 days prior to check-in: Any refund will be subject to the property re-renting at the agreed price. Owner will make a good faith attempt to re-rent the property, but the Tenant will be responsible for the full amount of the rental under the terms of the lease until the property is re-rented.
If the property re-rents at full price, the owner will refund all amounts received from the Tenant, less any non-recoverable costs incurred by the Owner on behalf of the Tenant;
If the property is not re-rented at full price, the difference will be due from the Tenant or deducted from any payments received. No refunds shall be due until the owner has received payment and an executed lease for the replacement reservation.
Short term rental ban: In the event of a local, state or federal ban on short term rentals during the time the tenant is scheduled to be in the property; the owner agrees to refund the Tenant in full for any payment received.
This is a short-term vacation rental and is not included in and State or Federal eviction ban.

Amazing vacation!
2024 was our 8th year at the Penthouse! We love the location, easy to beach and boards and a short walk to shops in town. The views are incredible!! Always spend a day in Smithville, you’re near everything!! You will LOVE The Penthouse!!!

Another Great Stay at the OC Penthouse!
We had another fantastic week at the OC Penthouse. The location is unbeatable. You are right in the middle of all that Ocean City has to offer. And the views are incredible! We had a great week enjoying the beach during the day, and then all of the attractions at night. Gillian's Wonderland, Castaway Cove, Jilly's Arcade, OC Waterpark...all a lot of fun!
One thing that I really appreciate is that the owners go out of their way to make sure that you have a great time in Ocean City. They send you information about all of the events going on during the week, and any online deals that may be available. We are very thankful that we found this gem, and are looking forward to another great week in 2025!

Bob and Carol are amazing! They provided us with so many events and details of things happening in the area during our stay. Their place was beautifully kept with everything available. Everything you could want or need
My mother and I stayed at the penthouse condo and were totally impressed with the fact that Bob and Carol had provided everything you could possibly want or need for a vacation at the beach. With just the two of us, it was very spacious, and the views were out of this world!
My mother is in a wheelchair, and the building was a bit challenging with the entrance ramp (too steep and too short) and the small elevator (very small). But once we got to the condo there were no issues with space or accessibility.
I especially appreciated the opportunity to use a Roku TV. I am old fashioned and hooked to cable, but this allowed me to try out a cableless system so that I am now prepared if I decide to cut the cable.
Because we are Cinnabon, Johnson's popcorn, and Fudge Kitchen fans, location was absolutely perfect.

Great accommodations with an equally great view of OC!
The “ penthouse” condo was a wonderful place to stay….wish we could have stayed longer! The condo was loaded with character and charm. The view on both sides on the extensive decks were amazing! City side and ocean side….sunrises and sunsets were beautiful.
The accommodations were spotless, with abundant amenities. Everything was labeled with specific and easy to follow instruction if needed.
Very comfortable, peaceful, and cozy place to be! ……made leaving really difficult!

Beautiful penthouse with the loveliest hosts
We stayed at Bob & Carol's place while in town for our wedding and it was a fantastic experience. The views are stunning and you cannot get a better location in OC. The bed was very comfortable, the water pressure was good, and the condo itself didn't give the "rental" feel at all, the decor and quality of furniture more gives the feeling of being in your own beach house. The hosts were SUPER accommodating (of our many wedding-week requests) and available, they even bought us a wedding gift. This is a very special penthouse and I encourage anyone looking for a high quality rental in OC to book.
