About Nancy and Peter Hopkins
We live in Maryland now, but have strong NJ roots having grown up in Northern Jersey and Wilmington, DE with summers a few blocks away on 17th street. We love that Ocean City has continued to grow and keep up with the times, while somehow preserving its best qualities from the past - truly the best family vacation atmosphere around. We couldn't pass up this opportunity to own a bit of OCNJ history and make new magical summer memories with our daughter.
Nancy and Peter Hopkins purchased this House in 2017
Why Nancy and Peter Hopkins chose Ocean City
We chose this property because it is such a blend of historic OCNJ charm and modern convenience and high end finishes. Plenty of room for our large family gatherings and lots of opportunity to share with other families. We were drawn to it immediately and quickly dismissed the other properties we had been considering. Everything about this lovely home has a connection to the Ocean City of our youth and of today.
What makes this House unique
We really wanted the privacy of a single family home for ourselves and guests. Other benefits of our home include spacious bedrooms, lots of TVs, a truly amazing porch, yard and patio with hot tub.

We had a fabulous time in Ocean City and we could not have found a more ideal place than 605 Wesley! We stayed in the main house and the cottage for a week long family reunion. This historic property has all the charm and beauty of an old house and all the comforts and amenities of a new home. It was very well maintained, clean, tastefully decorated, and well equipped for everything we needed in the kitchen and at the beach too, (as well as options for a rainy afternoon). The Hopkins were easy to communicate with and hospitable. We had no contact with the on site property manager because we did not have a single issue with either dwelling all week. The location is perfect. With my parents, (in their 70's), and several children under age 10, we walked daily to the beach and boardwalk and even to the grocery store. There is also a park, (green space and benches - no playground), right across the street that we enjoyed. The wrap around porch was absolutely lovely and a wonderful gathering space with a fantastic breeze and comfortable furniture. The fenced in yard and hot tub were a great bonus too! Do not hesitate! We would be delighted to return to O.C and if we do. . . this is where we'd choose to stay!

We rented this property to host a family reunion of 20+ people. When we arrived on Saturday we pulled into the driveway and were welcomed by 10+ garbage cans overflowing with trash and a group of seagulls picking through it. Not only did it smell horrible, it was also unsanitary. I immediately contacted the property manager and left a message. After not returning my call, I contacted the property owners. The property owners advised the property manager would be there on Sunday afternoon to remedy the trash situation. When the property manager arrived, one of the adult males greeted him at the driveway to make sure the parked cars were not in his way. The property manager was aggravated that he had to come take care of the trash and used inappropriate language in front of the family (children included). This was unacceptable and the adult male who greeted the property manager firmly told him that. While there, the property manager was also supposed to come into the house to fix a few other issues (there were some lights and a tv that was not working). The property manager left the property without fixing these issues. Once again I had to contact the property owner. We ended up having to troubleshoot and fix the issues on our own.
The house was at best what I would call "surface clean". The bathroom on the second floor of the main house smelled like urine and there was dust and dirt in every room (in troubleshooting the light issues we had to check if things were plugged in and was horrified to see how dirty it was under the bed and along the wall).
We were told the house came with a beach umbrella and 10 beach chairs so the family decided not to bring these things with us. Unfortunately there was no beach umbrella and only four beach chairs.
The property owners were great to deal with and very responsive. Unfortunately they have a property manager that doesn't hold the same customer service standards.

Our family of 19 (10 adults, 9 children) loved every inch of this house and cottage. For starters: that porch! It is huge, shaded, wired for sound, tricked out with fans and super high end furniture enough to simultaneously accommodate card players, wine drinkers, and nappers. Also, where do you find a fenced in side yard in OC with hammocks, nice grass, potted plants, and a huge spa? The 8 bedrooms (2 of which are bunk beds) made it easy to put cousins in gender rooms and make parents happy. Loved the second kitchen for preparing big meals. Lastly, 6th street is a quiet straight shoot to the boardwalk which gave us comfort as the kids ventured out on their own, crossing 3 lights. Do yourself a favor and rent some bikes right out of the gate... as this 3 second ride to Acme and Asbury street will have you smiling and you won't have to move your car. Did I mention the Farmer's market on Wednesday is on the next corner? Trust me, you won't regret this rental....

Very well kept house in the heart of Ocean City. About a 30min ride to the casino. We had the full house, and the cottage in the rear of the property. We slept 14-15 people comfortably, and tons of room to move around. Everything from the hot tub to the grills were functional, and the property itself is very private. No complaints and I would definitely reccomend to others!

Stayed off season for four days which mostly consisted of rain so most of the time was spent at the house. This was not a problem here - plenty of room with large diningroom table to sit around and enjoy each others company. Also must mention large nice showers. Plenty of pros without any cons

We had a wonderful vacation at your beach home and cottage. It is a beautiful, very well maintained home with that was decorated impeccably and well stocked. The house and cottage were able to house our family, which included 22 people from ages 8 to 80. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, but we were particularly thrilled with the outdoor space….the wrap around porch, swings, yard, hot tub, and outdoor shower…such nice places for us to gather rather than just the living room or dining room. We will certainly recommend your home to other large families looking to vacation together!!

We had anywhere from 16-18 people staying at any one time - from MA, CA, MD and NY. There was plenty of room and everyone raved about the accommodations. The kitchen was well equipped for the big dinners. The grill and the outdoor patio, as well as the Jacuzzi, got plenty of use. I think everyone's favorite was the wrap around porch at the main house. It was the perfect place to chill at the end of each day. The owners could not have been nicer. They were quick to get back with answers to my questions and suggestions. As everyone was departing, I was getting thank-yous and hugs for arranging such a wonderful vacation. You cannot ask for more than that!

The houses are great for a large group. We had 18 family members and never felt crowded. The houses are convenient to the beach, boardwalk and farmer's market. Definitely coming back.
